The Wall - 50th anniversary - (17.10.2011)
On August, 13th 1961 the German Democratic Republic (GDR ) started to build the Wall in Berlin. It separated the eastern part of the city from the western part. The last loophole for refugees was closed. The Wall was the result of the tensions among the allied powers of world war two. It became the symbol of separation in the post war time.
